Collaboration agreement between the Navy and the Sicilian Region

In recent days, the framework agreement for collaboration between the Sicilian Region and the Navy was signed.

The agreement stems from the strong link between the Navy and the Sicilian Region in consideration of the historical presence in the territory of the Sicily Maritime Command (Marisicilia) and of the dependent Commands, engaged in activities of common interest: protection of the marine environment, maritime culture, humanitarian collaboration and research projects in the maritime field.

Specifically, a technical-scientific committee has been defined composed of the Sicily Maritime Commander, Rear Admiral Nicola de Felice and the Director of the Augusta Military Arsenal, Rear Admiral Fabio Antonio Giulietti Virgulti, as representatives of the Navy; as well as the general secretary, Dr. G. Patrizia Monterosso and the general manager of the regional department, dott. Maurizio Pirillo.

The collaboration between the Sicilian Region and the Navy will focus primarily on issues of common interest including environmental protection along the coasts and in deep-sea fishing areas, safety in ports both for ecological aspects and for anti-terrorism. , the use of biofuels in the naval sector, seabed reclamation interventions, activities in favor of the civilian population in the hyperbaric and underwater medicine sectors, organization of workshop, joint seminars and masters for citizenship and public executives.
