Naval Academy, opening ceremony of the academic year

The opening ceremony of the 2014-15 academic year took place yesterday at the Naval Academy. The annual appointment was chaired by the chief of staff of the navy, team admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi, who declared the academic year open in front of a prestigious frame of high civil, military and religious authorities.

The expected prolusion was held this year by the undersecretary of state for the presidency of the council of ministers, sen. Marco Minniti.

The event was also attended by foreign military and naval officers accredited in Italy, honorary consuls of the consulates in the city of Labronica and eminent representatives of the university world of the universities of Pisa, Florence, Genoa, Naples and Trieste.

During the event, the traditional acknowledgments were given to the officers and students of the regular courses that have distinguished themselves in their studies and professional aptitude during the 2013-14 academic year; moreover, as a testimony to the consolidated bond that unites ours and many friendly foreign marinas, the awards of the marinas of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, France, Greece, Morocco, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain took place.
