The 29th and 30th of November took place in Hamburg 27th Steering Committee meeting and the 43rd Coordinating Group meeting. The two annual meetings are conducted in the context of international cooperation between Italy, Germany and Portugal for the life support of U212A submarines, established with the signing of dedicated Memoranda of Understanding by the respective defense ministries.

The two meeting constitute the main forums for consolidating and improving collaboration processes between the participating nations, encouraging mutual cooperation activities and the development of issues of efficiency, sustainability, innovation and shared future programs, relating both to submarines and to new technologies of underwater systems .

At the event, organized this year by the German Navy, Italy was represented by a delegation from the Navy General Staff and the Naval Armaments Directorate (NAVARM), led by Rear Admiral Vito Lacerenza, chief of the submarine department of the General Staff.

In addition to the representatives of the Portuguese and German delegations, delegates from the Greek and Norwegian Navies, who were interested in cooperation as they have similar submarines, also participated as observers. The current edition, which laid the foundation for Greece's entry into cooperation In-Service Support, saw the presence of the director of armaments of the German Federal Ministry of Defense, Vice Admiral Carsten Stawitzki.

The work carried out made it possible to confirm the validity and relevance of the collaboration in all the sectors being compared, from procurement to research and development, with concrete returns in terms of economies of scale and continuous innovation.
