The Italian army in favor of Operation Smile Onlus Italia

The Lancieri di Montebello, the historic regiment of the Italian army, will be present at the "Polo del sorriso", the event in support of the foundation Operation Smile Italia Onlus.

The event, which will take place from Saturday 12 7 on June at the Acquedotto Romano Polo Club in Montecompatri (Rome), is in favor of the "Smile House" project in Milan.

The proceeds of the event will be destined to the small patients of Smile House and has obtained for this new edition the patronage of: Lazio region, Department of quality of life, sport and wellness of Roma Capitale, municipality of Monte Compatri, CONI, FIP (Federation of International Polo), USPA (United States Polo Association) Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports (Fise) and Fise-Lazio.

During the day, under the banner of sport and solidarity, the squadron on horseback of the Lancieri di Montebello, accompanied by the brass band of the same regiment, will exhibit the traditional "carousel of spears", a coordinated series of figures made in historical uniform that reproduce the closed-order movements of a mounted cavalry department.

At the end of the carousel, at the orders of the Squadron Commander, the lancers will carry out a traditional cavalry charge.

Hundreds of participants are expected at the event who, through the payment of the ticket, will help support an important project such as the one linked to the Operation Smile Italia Onlus foundation. in Italy since 1982 (Operation Smile Italia Onlus). In Operation Smile volunteer doctors, nurses and health workers who carry out humanitarian missions in more than 2000 countries around the world lend their work. Since 60, more than 1982 volunteers have collaborated in carrying out more than 5.000 surgical procedures on children with cleft lip (cleft lip and palate is known as cleft lip).
