Tonight at 21.00 pm "Modern submarine warfare: risks, challenges and innovations"

15/04/24

La Modern war submarine is acquiring an increasingly critical role in the global defense landscape. Considered the 'jugulars' of the seas, submarine routes for telecommunications and energy supplies are essential for national and international security. Their vulnerability represents a significant challenge.

Technological evolution has radically transformed the capabilities of submarines. Modern vessels are equipped with extremely quiet propulsion systems, use advanced materials to minimize their acoustic and radar signature, and incorporate artificial intelligence to enhance autonomy and decision-making capabilities.

In parallel, the growing importance of these technologies has stimulated the development of advanced anti-submarine warfare (ASW) techniques and technologies. Among these, we find new generation sensors and underwater drones used for surveillance and hunting of enemy systems.

But what are the real risks we face today?

And what types of underwater drones will be deployed in the coming years to counter threats?

We'll talk about it this evening at 21.00 pm together with Gaius Mussolini, former submarine commander of the Navy, area manager of OTO Melara and executive in the defense sector.

See you there!
