Yesterday ended the 2013 / 2014 academic year of the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (CASD), with a ceremony for the awarding of diplomas in Palazzo Salviati.

The Minister of Defense, Senator Roberta Pinotti, the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Luigi Binelli Mantelli and the President of the Center for Advanced Studies for Defense, Team Admiral Rinaldo Veri, were present at the event, in front of a packed audience of representatives diplomats, civil, religious and military authorities, including the general commander of the carabinieri weapon Leonardo Gallitelli, the chief of staff of the Italian army, general Claudio Graziano and the general secretary of defense, the army corps general Enzo Stefanini.

The 65th ordinary session and the 13th special session of the Istituto Alti Studi per la Difesa (IASD), dedicated to the advanced training of executives, colonels and brigadier generals, associated with II level masters in "Global strategy and security ", of the La Sapienza University of Rome, and the 16th course of the Higher Institute of Joint Forces Staff (ISSMI), aimed at the advanced training of senior officers, lieutenant colonel and major, associated with the 159st level in "International strategic-military studies" of the Roma Tre University, which was attended by 20 national officers of the armed forces, 4 officers from friendly and allied countries and XNUMX civilian attendants selected by the university. Twenty-six foreign countries that attended the academic year ended today: Albania, Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, China, South Korea, Egypt, Fyrom, France, Germany, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mozambique, Niger, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Ukraine, Hungary and USA.

The ceremony began with the intervention of the CASD president, team admiral Rinaldo Veri, who after greeting Admiral Binelli Mantelli and Minister Pinotti said that

After explaining the work carried out during the academic year, Admiral Veri stressed that "It is now a shared opinion that education and more generally culture must be safeguarded, even in a difficult context, as a priority pillar of the system Country and, therefore, the resources allocated there must represent, without fear of denial, a certain investment for the present and the future of the country. At the end of the ceremony, the Minister of Defense, Sen. Roberta Pinotti, who complimented the high level of training achieved within the CASD and handed the diplomas to some representatives of the course attendees.

The Center for Advanced Studies for Defense (CASD) is the leading joint organization in the field of advanced training, studies and research concerning national and international Defense and Security.
