Le Grazie - Portovenere. A sporting event of notable level characterized the weekend between 30 September: the "Navy Caiman Race" competition took place, i.e. one of the most exciting OCR (Obstacle Course Race) races on the national scene, which combines racing sections with overcoming of natural and artificial obstacles; it is a complete sporting discipline, which originates from military obstacle courses and which puts psycho-physical abilities to the extreme test, requiring qualities of resistance, strength, speed, coordination and agility. therefore exceptional, which saw the participation of around 200 athletes who faced an endurance race dotted with multiple physical tests.
The challenge, organized by Endas (National Democratic Body for Social and Sports Action, recognized by CONI) in close collaboration with the Municipality of Portovenere and the divers and raiders group Theseus Tesei, developed over a route of over 15 km with a positive difference in altitude of 900 meters with over 45 obstacles, and saw the collaboration of Comsubin both in terms of participation and organizational aspects, making gymnastic-sports obstacle courses available at the base of Varignano and the areas of Forte Muzzerone, GRS and Balipedio.
This year an important and wonderful novelty saw the participation of some veterans accompanied by the staff of the Defense veterans center within the organizational structure of the Celio military polyclinic, as well as an event dedicated to the little ones, a Navy Caiman Kids designed for children aged 4 to 12 and which saw them involved in a fun obstacle course in the fascinating panorama of the Borgo delle Grazie, as well as mini internships in the martial arts sector and especially judo, under the expert direction of the 1st raider lgt Alessandro De Nardi.
The Comsubin sports center participated with a representation of athletes who also achieved brilliant results on this occasion, including two first places in the category, which once again confirm the peculiarities of the Varignano staff.
