Victory for the Navy at the 49th J24 Winter Championship in Anzio and Nettuno

After 14 races, the 49th Championship of Anzio and Nettuno ended, organized by the Circolo della Vela di Roma with the collaboration of the Royal Circolo Canottieri Tevere Remo, of the Italian Naval League (Anzio section), of the Sailing Section of the Navy of Anzio, the Marina Capo d'Anzio and the Marina di Nettuno.

And once again it's the J24's Navy sports group ITA-416 "La Superba" (helmed by Ignazio Bonanno, crewed by Simone Scontrino, Alfredo Branciforte, Vincenzo Vano, Francesco Picaro and Francesco Linares) to win the final victory of this traditional event, with 11 races won out of the 11 constituting the final score (the number of races played allowed 3 discards).

Furthermore, as the first J24 classified, "La Superba" also takes home the special UNUCI Anzio-Nettuno J24 Challenge Trophy, established by the National Union of Officers on Leave of Italy (Anzio-Nettuno Section), chaired by Col. Luciano Baietti.

Podium for the Navy also in the Lozzi Trophy collateral, with the second step of the podium conquered by the J24 ITA-358 "Arpione" of the Sailing Section of Anzio (helmed by Michele Potenza, crewed by Elisabetta Centrone, Caterina Spagnolo, Panfilo Del Beato Corvi and Italo Paulini).

The Navy crews distinguished themselves in a series of regattas which saw the participation of numerous boats, certainly also attracted by the possibility of competing with the athletes of "La Superba", current vice-Champions of the J24 class World.

Next appointment for La Superba and the J24s of the Sailing Section of the Navy on 16 and 17 March, again in the waters of Anzio and Nettuno, for a stage of the J24 National Circuit. Wind in the sails of our crews!
