Once again Lake Paola in Sabaudia (LT) inaugurated the canoeing season, a flat water specialty with the Italian Cross Country Championship.
Last weekend almost 900 athletes from the junior-under 23 and senior categories competed to win the Italian 5000 meters title.

Agata Fantini wins the absolute individual title in k1 and repeats in k4 with her teammates Cristina Petracca, Mathilde Rosa and Giorgia Lacalamita.
Another gold medal also for Giorgia Lacalamita in the 5000 k1 U23 category.
The collaboration of the Rowing Sports Center of Sabaudia was indispensable which, in synergy with the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and the municipal administration, allowed the race to take place with a record of participation, especially in the youth field.
“These are numbers that make us proud,” commented the federal president Luciano Buonfiglio “Great credit goes to the intense work of the territory, the companies and the company technicians to whom my greatest compliments go for the commitment and passion they are demonstrating, despite the many bureaucratic difficulties.”
The paracanoe sector is also in the water with the challenge of winning the Italian titles over the distances of 2000m, 3000m and 5000m depending on the category they belong to.
