Olympic sailing: world bronze medal in Lanzarote for Jana Germani and Giorgia Bertuzzi

World podium for the athletes Jana Germani and Giorgia Bertuzzi at the Olympic sailing championship, specialty 49erFX.

In Lanzarote, the crew registered Navy sports group he obtained an amazing bronze medal.

Despite the adverse weather conditions that characterized the first three days of qualifying, making navigation complicated, the Italian crew managed to reach the final already placing themselves in third position.

On the first day of Gold Fleet, the regatta field was characterized by gusty winds which made the work of the athletes in the water more complex.

Thanks to a medal race held by controlling their rivals in the rankings, the Italian crew, already a silver medalist at the European championships last November with which they obtained qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, secures third place overall confirming its great growth, reliability and sporting maturity.

In the general classification, team Italy is behind Holland and Sweden.  

“We are extremely happy to have achieved third place.  – declared Jana Germani and Giorgia Bertuzzi - We still can't believe it. We managed to face a challenging week with determination. Now, it's time to learn from the small mistakes made in order to give our all in the next regattas.".
