In the last few days, with the delivery of participation certificates, a training, awareness and professional updating course at the Misurata Civil Hospital ended.

The activity, organized by the Italian Field Hospital as part of MIASIT (Bilateral Mission of Assistance and Support in Libya), was aimed at healthcare personnel who work mainly in the operating room. Highly requested topics were discussed during the periodic technical coordination tables, held by the doctors of the Italian Field Hospital with the Civil Hospital of Misurata, with a view to supporting the path of consolidation and growth of Libyan healthcare. The course aims to transmit the skills necessary to adapt the procedures for the protection and prevention of nosocomial infections. In particular, through the theoretical lessons, the audience is sensitized on how to wash their hands, on how to sanitize environments and surfaces and on how to use antiseptics correctly, especially to prepare the operating theaters and the operators themselves.

The activity is part of the context of health support and cooperation foreseen among the tasks of MIASIT, which makes use of the Italian field hospital, made up of military health personnel coming for the most part from the Celio Military Polyclinic in Rome. Doctors, nurses and technicians are a resource of recognized excellence, which allows the healthcare facility to express its capacity for intensive care and post-surgical assistance, surgical and internal hospitalization, clinical diagnostics, physiotherapy, blood bank, 1st level diagnostic imaging , pharmacy, preventive medicine and telemedicine.
