The blue helmets of the logistic regiment Taurinense supported the Lebanese Armed Forces in the redeployment and fitting out of numerous housing modules south of the city of Tire, in the area of responsibility of the western sector of UNIFIL under Italian leadership.
LAF military (Lebanese Army Forces), transport workers with their own trucks, and Italian specialists from the Rivoli logistics regiment, moved, transported and repositioned housing modules of the 5th brigade battalions in different areas south of the Litani river, in order to create semi control stations permanent in inaccessible areas, crucial for the control of the territory.
The logistic support to the LAF, which lasted about a week, saw the joint operation of Italian and Lebanese military personnel in close coordination with the staff of the Sector West; the use of Italian expertise in logistics activities is one of the ways in which the national contingent supports the Lebanese Armed Forces in compliance with resolution 1701 to the Unifil mission.
The logistic regiment Taurinense, deployed in Lebanon as Combat Service Support battalion (CSS bn), guarantees logistical support to the entire national contingent, also contributing, with its own professionalism and specialized assets, to the operational activities of the western sector under the guidance of the Alpine brigade Taurinense.
