The 7 May 2015 the vessel lieutenant ANF (enabled "amphibious") Jacopo Orsoni of the Brigade Marina San Marco graduated at the end of the course Expeditionary Warfare School at the University of Quantico in Virginia.

The institute is a reference not only for the US Marines, but also for all the nations that boast an amphibious component in their armed forces and that want to keep their military instrument adequate to the new threats.

Center of studies and training, the Marine Corps University is composed in its interior from numerous structures with the task to form during the whole career the officers of the Marines.

The Expeditionary course is at an intermediate level in the officers' career. Visitors for ten months prepare to perform tasks in staff or as company commanders.

The Marina San Marco Brigade, an amphibious member of the Navy, has a profound and constant adherence to this course, with the aim of keeping the national amphibious doctrine up-to-date and at the same time competing with similar devices of other maritime nations.

Leadership, planning, civil-military cooperation are just some of the topics covered, developed and discussed in recent months, interspersed with complex planning, exercises and fire support simulators.

At the end of the course ceremony, the naval captain Valter Zappellini, naval attaché at the Italian embassy in Washington DC, attended the Navy.
