Officer of the Navy Engineers: an opportunity to become an engineer in the Naval Academy

There are a few days left for the publication of the competition for the 1st class of the Naval Academy for the year 2017.

108 cadet officers of normal roles for the various Corps and 7 official cadets of normal roles for the Maritime Military Sanitary Corps will be recruited. Among the 108 places for the various Corps, 22 places are allocated to the Corps of the Navy Engineers.

The Genius of the Navy is one of the six bodies into which the organization of the Navy is divided and is divided into the following specialties:

- Naval engineering
- Naval weapons
- Infrastructure

The 22 places in the competition will be divided between the following three specialties:

- 9 for the naval engineering specialty
- 7 for the specialty of naval weapons
- 6 for the Infrastructure specialty

The officers of the Naval Engineering specialty direct the technical services of naval units and submarines (propulsion system, platform systems and electrical service), manage the safety systems of the platform, operate in the ship design sector, manage the arsenals and employed at the central departments in the Defense sector. They follow a training course focused on the Degree Course in Naval Engineering.

The officers of the Naval Weapons specialty perform multiple functions relating to the technical-engineering aspects of the combat system on board naval units and submarines, at the arsenals and operational bodies or at the central bodies in the Defense field, for the maintenance of efficiency of the naval, aircraft and underwater vessels of the Navy and support for naval operations. They follow a training process focused on the degree course in Telecommunications Engineering.

The officers of the Infrastructure specialty, after an initial training period of a naval nature, carry out tasks related to the design and maintenance of the buildings and infrastructures of the Navy, up to the top positions in the sector in the Armed Forces and joint forces. They follow a training process focused on the degree course in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
