The "Open Sea" exercise, an annual training activity that takes place in the central Mediterranean and which involves various aeronaval and amphibious assets, to test the operational effectiveness of the complex commands involved and the relative assigned forces, ended today.

Since 15 November, 3000 soldiers have operated from naval units, aircraft and submarines, interacting at sea and on land, according to the themes developed by the Aeronaval Training Center of the Navy, and under the supervision of the commander in chief of the naval squad, squad admiral Donato Marzano.

Serial activities before and "free play" scenario after, have characterized this edition of Offshore which, in the tactical phase from 20 to 25 November, reproduced a real situation of international crisis.

The results achieved during the Open Sea - as Admiral Marzano himself pointed out - are very good in particular in some sectors, and reflect the passion and interest shown by the men and women who have been involved.
More generally, this is an important positive trend which, at the end of this activity, shows that the country can count on a solid Armed Force capable of ensuring its main defense and security tasks and maximum support for the community.
