The Navy returns to carry out the traditional "Open Sea" exercise after a year of suspension of the training cycle due to the massive use of personnel and equipment in Operation Mare Nostrum.

The exercise will begin the 2 March and will take place in the training areas of the Tyrrhenian and Ionian, with the deployment of various components of the Navy, aimed at the resumption of training, in traditional forms of employment: maritime security operations, anti-submarine fight, antiaircraft and antinave.

The last exercise conducted shortly before the start of Operation Mare Nostrum was the Brilliant Mariner - Mare Aperto (photo) which took place in September 2013.
