The competition announcement for the recruitment of 4 officers for special roles in the Navy reserved for young people with first level master's or three-year degree and under the age of 5 has been published in the Official Gazette - 32th special series - of the Italian Republic. .
The competition in question for 2017 provides for the recruitment of officers with the rank of ensign of the following Corps:
- 1 for graduates in biology or medical, veterinary and pharmaceutical biotechnology for the Maritime Military Health Corps;
- 1 for graduates in veterinary medicine for the Maritime Military Health Corps;
- 3 for graduates in naval engineering (first level three-year degree) for the Port Authority Corps.
- The master's degree classes admitted to the participation are specified in the competition announcement (art. 2).
The competition includes the following phases:
- two written tests (one of general culture and one of technical-scientific culture);
- evaluation of the qualifications;
- psycho-physical investigations;
- aptitude assessment;
- physical efficiency test;
- oral exam;
- optional oral test in a foreign language.

Admission to the course of the winners will take place approximately in the month of September 2017. The application course, which will take place at the Naval Academy, will last less than one academic year.
