Ship Vesuvius resumed full operation after the training recall, under the guidance of the Aeronavale Training Center of Taranto and the support of the ship San Giorgio, Aliseo ship, Fenice ship and Urania ship.

In August, it secured the necessary logistical support to the Naval Squad units involved in current operations in the Central Mediterranean.

The operating activity has developed mainly in supplying the ships with fuel, food and ensuring the transfer of personnel.

Among the most significant moments we recall the refueling of the flagship of the fleet of the Navy, Cavour ship, and of the Fasan ship, for which different refueling activities were conducted at the same time, to allow the resumption of operational activity quickly.

Two entrances in the area of operations for ship Vesuvius, just 5 days away from each other. During periods of stay in the area the unit supplied - in addition to the aforementioned aircraft carrier and Fasan ship, also ship Mimbelli and ship Grecale.

A novelty for the Navy's supply ship, was the establishment of the first Helicopter Section with the deployment on board of an AB 212 of the Fourth Grottaglie Group along with the team of pilots, operators and specialists.

After almost three months out of office, ship Vesuvio returned to La Spezia last August 27, and the next 4 September will be the turn of the current commander, frigate captain Mauro Miretti, who will be replaced by frigate captain Umberto Del Carro.
