Match the MiniTransat 2015

(To Marina Militare)
21/09/15

Last Saturday MiniTransat 2015 started from Douarnenez, France, with 72 skippers from 15 nations to battle it out in two classes, production boats and prototypes, for approximately 4.000 miles divided into two stages.

The trans-ocean regatta, with destination Iles de Guadeloupe in the French Antilles, sees the return of a navy boat competing after 43 years. The last was Admiral Faggioni in the Ostar of 1972 with Sagittarius.

The navy is competing among the standard boats with #Pegasus883 helmed by the sub-director Andrea Pendibene, one of the six Italians in the race.

Qualifying for this very important event was not easy: two years of national and international regattas to climb the ranking of the Mini650 and find yourself among the best 84 skippers in the world. Essential condition to register. This is why from today the eyes of the world of sailing will be on this regatta which counts as a world championship.

The strict rules of the MiniTransat organization allow the skippers only emergency communications with the race judges, so you can follow the evolution of the race on Twitter, @ItalianNavy with the hashtag #Pegasus883, or on the site of the event where the live broadcast is currently broadcast.
