Nave Garibaldi hosts the XXIX edition of the Double Trap Shooting Championship

From 4 to 6 July it will take place on board Nave Garibaldi, aircraft carrier cruiser of the third naval division of the Navy moored in Taranto at the naval station Great Sea, the 29th edition of the Italian championship Double Trap, an important and consolidated joint sporting event which since 1995 has seen one of its stages carried out on board units of the naval team.

On Tuesday 4th July at 18:30 the sporting competition will start with the traditional reading of the Athlete's Oath.

The competitions will end on the morning of Thursday 6 July with the closing ceremony presided over by Dr. Luciano Rossi, national president of the Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting Federation and of the World Shooting Sports Federation, with the participation of military, civil and political authorities.

The event, organized by FITAV in collaboration with the Defense Staff, will be attended by some of the most awarded blue shooters in uniform, who with their victories have contributed in a decisive way to keeping up the honor of our country in the sporting arena.

Among these we can mention the sub-chief Antonino Barillà, Navy, World and Olympic Champion of Double Trap at the Rio 2016 Games, comm. Giovanni Pellielo, Penitentiary Police, four times world champion and four times Olympic medalist, ten. with the. Massimo Croce, Air Force, Trap Military World Champion, and Emanuele Buccolieri, State Police, bronze medal at the Junior European Championships.

The shooters will compete on the distance of 100 clay pigeons each to win the prestigious title up for grabs, also on the bridge of the Garibaldi shooters from the FITAV youth sector will also compete in a Grand Prix dedicated to them.
