After having cast off the moorings from the port of New York, at the end of Fleet Week, Nave Virginio Fasan arrived last June 1 in the naval base of Norfolk (Virginia).

During the stop, the commander of the unit, captain of frigate Fabio Casamassima, received on board the honorary consul of Italy in Norfolk and Virginia beach, gen. ba Gianmarco Bellini, strengthening the link with the Italian presence in the American territory. The stop at the Norfolk base is an opportunity for comparison with the largest reality of the US Navy.

Over the next few days, the unit will prepare to complete the preparatory phase in view of the imminent deployment that will see it participate in the C2X exercise in the coming weeks. Ship Fasan it will therefore be integrated into the American aircraft carrier escort group Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The participation of FREMM ASW in the exercise will represent a precious opportunity to strengthen the already consolidated partnership link that exists between Italy and the United States, as well as to relaunch Made in Italy overseas.
