Navy: over 700 migrants rescued

Saturday 5 December ship Aviere of the Navy engaged in the device Safe Sea, which guarantees maritime surveillance and security in the central Mediterranean, took part in search and rescue operations on 3 boats in difficulty north of the Libyan coast, recovering 603 migrants. Landing operations have been underway this morning in the port of Taranto.

Ship Driade of the Navy engaged in Fishing Supervision, on Saturday 5 December, he rescued a raft in distress north of the Libyan coast, recovering 133 migrants transferred to a second unit for the next landing in the port of Augusta.

Thanks to the helicopters on board, the Navy ships also allowed the discovery and location of all the vessels present in the area of ​​operations and also guaranteed an adequate security framework for all the vehicles involved in the recovery operations of the castaways.
