02/10/14

During the night, at the end of a complex and detailed surveillance operation, the navy, in close coordination with the Catania prosecutor's office, carried out the seizure of a fishing boat, with sixteen boatmen on board dedicated to the trafficking of migrants.

Of particular importance, also for the purposes of gathering evidence, was the occult surveillance carried out with the help of the submarine Prini (in the image below the transhipment of the migrants from a first ship, ed).

During the operation, the navy also rescued about 300 migrants on another boat issued by the aforementioned seized mother ship.
