The ships of the Safe Sea device rescue more than 700 migrants in a few hours

731 are the migrants rescued this morning by the ships of the Navy during the patrol of the Strait of Sicily under the Operation Safe Sea.

Ship Cigala Fulgosi intervened to rescue three boats, recovered a total of 407 migrants including 4 corpses.

Ship Bettica intervened in assistance to two boats recovering 219 migrants.

Ship Sirocco took over the coordination of search and rescue operations of an additional inflatable boat in precarious floating conditions, recovering 105 migrants subsequently transferred to the 941 CP.

The Navy ships are included in the "Safe Sea" air-naval device that carries out maritime presence, surveillance and security activities in the Central Mediterranean in order to ensure the protection of national interests through the protection of communication lines, commercial ships and platforms off-shore of national interest.
