Also this year the Navy will participate in the initiative Heart Hour together with WWF Italy and will switch off the lights of its ships and naval bases throughout Italy.

The Navy, attentive to environmental issues and the spread of a maritime education aimed at respecting and enhancing the sea as an important resource for the country, is the natural ally of WWF Italy in virtue also of the agreement signed last year for the creation of scientific research projects and sea monitoring.

The Navy is already at the forefront in the prevention of environmental and marine pollution with the "Green Fleet" project which aims to reduce the use of fossil fuel on board Naval Units - with a consequent reduction in gas emissions harmful - through the use of alternative fuels such as liquefied natural gas and biofuels.

The 19 March at 20.30 join the Navy crew and "turn off the lights to turn on the change"!
