The course for the training of commanders of coastal naval units for the staff of other armed forces ended a few days ago at the "MOVM Domenico Bastianini" non-commissioned officers' school in La Maddalena.

The course, which took place from 12 September to 2 December, saw the participation of 16 attendees, divided between the Army, Air Force and Arma dei Carabinieri, and represents a concrete demonstration of the "joint force" concept.

Attendees ventured into a dedicated training course, including specific subjects in the maritime field - elements of shipbuilding, equipment and maneuvering, "equipment and procedures" communications, navigation law, boating with chart applications and meteorology - as well as activities seafaring practices and the conduct of coastal units.

In fact, the theoretical lessons were accompanied by numerous practical exercises, first of all the activities at sea aboard the institute's naval vessels.

The purpose of the course was to make the students acquire the theoretical / practical professional preparation necessary to take command of coastal naval units, in order to carry out the tasks of the Institute.

The scenarios of the La Maddalena Archipelago were confirmed to be of particular training value: the conformation of the coast and the islands, together with the weather and sea conditions, made the sea trips, especially during the night, particularly challenging and formative for visitors. .

At the end of the course, the commander of the NCO School, ship captain Roberto Fazio, wanted to personally greet the visitors, wishing them the best wishes for a brilliant career continuation.
