The Mistral frigate receives in Livorno the future officers of the MM

16/10/14

Mistral ship, returning from the fifth aggregation to the Mare Nostrum operation, stopped in Livorno and could not miss the involvement of the naval academy which has its headquarters in the city of Livorno and which, from the 1881, trains future naval officers .

The opportunity was exploited to allow the first-class students of the normal roles, of the staff, to have their "first approaches" with a gray ship.

In addition to the students who crossed San Jacopo gate a little less than a month ago, the training director of the naval academy, captain of vessel Alberto Sodomaco, and the commander of the first class, captain of corvette Roberto Ruggiero, were also received on board. .

The delegation was received on board by the commander, and subsequently took part in a briefing aimed at illustrating the history of the unit and its main technical characteristics, as well as the operations that currently see it engaged. Subsequently, the students were divided into three groups and were able to do a tour of the ship accompanied by the crew, ready to respond to any doubt or curiosity.

The visit was the moment when the memories of the ship's officers were mixed, inextricably linked to the naval academy, with the hopes and expectations of the young students who, perhaps, today look at the ships as a distant goal but that soon they will live in first person as protagonists. At the end there was the usual exchange of gifts and a suggestive group photo on the flight deck.
