The frigate Aliseo, set the 26 May 1981 in the Cantieri Navali Riuniti of Riva Trigoso, launched the 29 Ottobre 1982 and delivered the 7 September 1983, today, just two weeks after returning from the commitment in the operation "Safe Sea", leaves the service active in fleet of the Navy passing in the position of "Reduced Availability Table".

Designed with antisubmersible and antiaircraft defense, the frigate Aliseo, unit of the “Venti” class resulting from Naval Law promulgated in 1975, it has covered over 600.000 miles since its launch, participating in the NATO mission Enduring Freedom and operations Mare Nostrum e Safe Sea.

It is specifically the seventh Navy ship to be disbarred since last year, as already happened for the patrol vessel Grenadier (30 week 2015), the minesweepers Lerici e Sapri (Sept. 24, 2015), the frigate Mistral (15 dec. 2015) and the corvettes Danaide e Urania (10 mar. 2016). The formal act of exit from the Navy fleet will materialize with the ceremony of the last ammaina flag which will take place next year.

Thanks however to the effort and attention of the government and parliament, according to the indications of the Minister of Defense, a program of renewal of the lines of operation of the naval units has been undertaken that will allow, at least in part, to make up for the growing obsolescence of the fleet with state-of-the-art means of high technological content, with marked dual skills and certainly more respectful of the environment.
