An autumn full of international activities for the Mine War Training Center (MARICENDRAG) of La Spezia which operates under the command of the Mine Countermeasure Forces. In fact, the MCM-CAX (Mine Counter Measures - Computer Aid Exercise) exercise kicked off on 19 September, which went live on 26 September and will end on 7 October.

The exercise was born from the historical and consolidated collaboration between the Maricendrag and the Belgian-Dutch NATO School of War Mine (EGUERMIN). A collaboration that has had authoritative consolidation in the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the Italian, Belgian and Dutch defense ministers.

Developed in two distinct phases, the exercise involved the specialist personnel of the CMM units (mine countermeasures), a German officer inserted in the staff who, under the supervision of the Maricendrag instructors, prepared the operational plan for the subsequent phase of conduct. , which will see them involved in the next two weeks in a simulated mine countermeasures operation in a complex scenario.

In this second phase, staff from the Belgian and Dutch marinas will also participate, which will carry out the control and training functions in coordination with the Maricendrag instructors.

The intense international activity of the center will not stop here but will continue, in the first three weeks of October, with a training activity in favor of the crew of a Greek minesweeper unit (HS EVROPI), and with a fire and anti-leak course to which Maltese military personnel will participate, among others.
