On Monday 2 October, 168 aspiring marshal students in civilian clothes crossed the gate of the Non-Commissioned Officers School of Taranto.

Winners of the competition, selected from more than 3600 competitors, 32 women and 136 men are preparing to begin a challenging three-year journey which will lead them, at the end, to become a non-commissioned officer in the Navy. Study, sport, military and naval training are some of the cornerstones that will be part of their daily life.

With the new normal marshals course (N.MRS) and the simultaneous start of the 2023/24 academic year, a new degree course will be provided. In fact, in addition to the multi-year and consolidated collaboration with the University of Bari "Aldo Moro", the Navy has launched a degree course in Industrial and Naval Systems Engineering with the Polytechnic of Bari for the benefit of marshal students Platform System Specialists (SSP), providing technical training adapted to the current needs of the Armed Forces.

Furthermore, this year, thanks to an agreement between the Italian Navy and the Libyan Navy in the field of training, Mariscuola Taranto welcomed 7 Libyan students who, after a period of language training at the "Aviation English" Training Center " of Loreto, will attend the same course of study as the 168 new students.

We hope for the 26th normal course calm seas and tailwind.
