British commendation to the TV Alessio Sabbatini, officer of the Marina Miltare

The Italian Navy lieutenant Alessio Sabbatini today received a commendation from the fleet commander by the British ambassador in Italy Jill Morris.

Sabbatini Lieutenant Lieutenant was praised for his excellent services as a liaison officer with the team of Commander Amphinius Task Group (COMATG), part of the operation Weald, during the summer of the 2015. Sabbatini, then employed in the operation Safe Sea, facilitated the work of HMS Bulwark within an extremely demanding Italian operation area, responding to complex challenges and taking advantage of its extensive experience in the field.

In particular, the Sabbatini Navy officer was heavily involved in the landing of migrants rescued at sea, facilitating the daily activities of the Bulwark and the 814 ° Naval Air Squadron, spending itself relentlessly and in a highly professional manner.

The commitment of vessel lieutenant Sabbatini was instrumental in the guarantee the initial and uninterrupted success of the operation Weald. The Lieutenant of Sabbatini is therefore assigned the Fleet Commander's commendation in recognition of its efforts to ensure an effective and rapid British contribution to a wider and more complex European problem.
