An important collaboration agreement was signed today between the Teseo Tesei (Comsubin) and the University of Insubria to coordinate their respective research capacities in the field of diving medicine.

The signing of this convention saw Comsubin's commander, rear-admiral Paolo Pezzutti, and the magnificent rector, prof. Alberto Coen Porisini, mutually recognizing the value of their experimental and didactic skills in this branch of medicine.

Comsubin from almost 80 years, through the section of Underwater Physiopathology ofStudies Office ruled by the frigate captain Giovanni Ruffino, he conducts training courses, research and experimentation on the physiology of human immersion both nationally and internationally and, in the context of these activities, maintains contacts with the most important military and civil research centers in Europe and in the other allied countries.

Admiral Enrico Mascia head ofHealth Inspectorate of the Italian Navy, which attended the ratification of the agreement, wanted to underline the importance of this new synergy which, not limited to research alone, opens up new and profitable forms of collaboration in the field of higher education in the specialist branch representative of maritime military medicine; a sector, that of hyperbaric and underwater medicine, which continues to grow and today is no longer limited solely to supporting underwater work activities or games and which sees hyperbaric oxygen therapy as the therapy of choice for an ever increasing number of pathologies.
