Marina San Marco Brigade, ends military combat stage

13/10/14

After a training period of about a month, the 10 October was the final demonstration of the 1 ° stage for naval instructors in the 'melee military combat' at the Marina San Marco Brigade (BMSM).

The program and techniques were initially developed during the 1 ° supplementary module for the boarding teams and disseminated during the internship to all instructors designated by the BMSM.

The aim of the internship is to provide all the military with the mastery and effectiveness of the techniques despite the limitations of movement, due to individual equipment, both in terms of weight and size. An accurate choice and a continuous improvement of the techniques, with a constant training, represent the strengths of the military combat to body.

The team, led by vessel lieutenant Francesco Santoro, combined the experience gained in the operational field and the skills acquired in the practice of martial arts and combat sports, using military combat techniques suitable for every situation and context.

This system is based on a series of techniques that range from projections to the ground, levers and abilities to immobilize the opponent, both with bare hands and with the use of weapons as an aid to defense techniques.

Furthermore, the continuous confrontation through the struggle remains one of the best methods to stimulate healthy competition and the possibility of keeping one's body at the top of the performances, favoring elasticity and balance.
