25/11/14

After 10 weeks of activity, the 21 November ended the 2 ° supplementary module for Boarding Team, an advanced training that has the purpose to let acquire the ability to operate in "non-cooperative" scenarios in both day and night environment by the team of the 2 ° regiment of the Marina San Marco Brigade.

Based on the experience gained during the 1 ° module, the 2 ° was further integrated into joint training with the newly formed Amphibian Selecters (TSA) and Hand-Armed Military Combat Training (CMCC).

Of the 34 total visitors, 21 were found to be suitable, increasing the "non-cooperating" capabilities of the 2 ° San Marco regiment.

The final exercise that has crowned the hard training course of the visitors took place in the 3 ^ week of November, in the bay of Taranto and saw the active participation of the merchant ship "Lady Gaia" (General Cargo), under the command of the commander Giuseppe Sacco and the Inspector Teams of the Durand de La Penne, Espero and Zeffiro ships.

During this week the instructors of the 2 regiment, with the collaboration of the crew of the merchant, have recreated a likely "non-cooperative" scenario in increasing incremental, both day and night, with firing activations and the simulation of the presence of criminals on board.

With the next acquisition of new-generation ocean-going vessels it will be possible to train the Boarding Teams to perform boarding in obstructed scenarios using the telescopic pole on merchant ships that refuse the boarding and carry out evasive maneuvers.
