The training module at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis and aboard the US Navy patrol boats has just finished, which involved two students of the 2nd class of the Naval Academy, course Mizar.

The activity took place from the 23 in July to the 18 in August and was divided into two parts: during the first phase, at the US academy, theoretical lessons of plane and precision navigation were held in restricted waters, of vessel knowledge and on-board instrumentation and regulations to prevent collisions at sea. The second operational phase, on the other hand, provided for navigation on the American "Yps" (Yard Patrol Boats or coastal patrol boats) and the visit to the ports of Baltimore and Boston passing through the inland waters of the East Coast, near New York and crossing the Cape Cod Canal.

The experience of navigation in the Atlantic Ocean was extraordinary for the students Andrea Iachini and Lorenzo Be, especially in view of the next achievement, at the end of the 3rd academic year, of the qualification to watch basic bridge, the first step in the career of every young naval officer.

A month of really intense training, significant both from a professional and a human point of view: this experience offered the unique opportunity for 2 ^ class students to experience the atmosphere of the US naval academy in person. From the first day of their stay in the institute, the children were accompanied by the midshipmen Americans and were able to deal with different operating procedures that contributed to their professional growth.
