An important day for the Livorno Naval Academy, where the opening ceremony of the 2015-16 academic year was held last Friday.
The annual appointment was held in the presence of the Chief of Defense, General Claudio Graziano, and the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi who, at the end of his speech, proclaimed the new academic year open.
The event was attended by foreign military and naval officers accredited in Italy, honorary consuls of the consulates in the city of Livorno and eminent representatives of the universities of Pisa, Florence, Genoa, Naples and Trieste.
During the event, the traditional awards were given to the officers and students of the normal courses that were particularly distinguished in their studies, and for professional attitude during the academic year 2014-15.
During the ceremony, some prizes promoted by the foreign navies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, France, Greece, Morocco, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador were also presented.
