An Italian 40 military team from the technical and operational departments of the armed forces specializing in command and control systems took part in the "CWIX 2016" (Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise), held for a week at the NATO Joint Force Training Center in Bydgoszcz, which was attended by about 900 participants from over 30 nations.
A national team led and coordinated by the Summit Operational Command participated in the exercise, aimed at improving interoperability in the "C4ISR" (Command and Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) sector of the Atlantic Alliance Joint forces, as well as elements of the NATO Center of Excellence for Modeling & Simulation (CoE M&S) in Rome.
Italy has taken over the lead focus areas (Terrestrial and Operational Command), deploying 12 "Sistemi" and leading over a sixth of planned tests for the entire exercise, highlighting the potential, validity and interoperability of national systems .
Great attention was given to the technical demonstration held on the occasion of the VIP Day, in the presence of the NATO SACT commander, various national military representatives and the chief operational support department of the IOC, gen. ba Iannotta), in which the Defense Command, Control and Information ADV system was used as a primary tool to increase knowledge of the joint operational situation.
