Training activities in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces

In recent days, the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), under the command of Colonel Sandro Iervolino, completed the courses with the closing ceremonies Amphibious Sniper – Train The Trainers e Chemical Basic Train On Trainers, in favor respectively of marine commandos regiment and dell'engineering regiment of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).​

The course Amphibious Sniper – Train The Trainers, aimed at enabling participants to teach precision shooting techniques and the use of the shooter on board naval units and helicopters, was conducted from 15 January to 8 March by a Navy team, made up of 5 instructors from the brigade Saint Mark, in favor of 12 Lebanese operators.​

The intense training activities allowed the participants to acquire the ability to train in techniques and tactics to operate synergistically and in support of VBSS (Visit, Board, Search and Seizure) teams, precision shooting and concealed movement, with specific reference to observation and the acquisition of useful information for units moving in the field.​

The training path Chemical Basic Train On Trainers, aimed at teaching attendees the basic capabilities of CBRN defense and, in particular, defense against the chemical threat, was conducted from 29 January to 11 March by Lebanese instructors previously trained by a MIBIL Mobile Training Team, under the supervision of an Army team made up of 5 instructors from the 7th CBRN Defense Regiment "Cremona" stationed in Civitavecchia, for 21 Lebanese visitors.​

The course provided knowledge on topics relating to the nature and classification of aggressive chemicals, as well as the threat posed by them Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) and industrial chemical accidents.​

The carrying out of the courses allowed, thanks to the professionalism and experience of the Army and Navy instructors, the full achievement of the pre-established training objectives and the passing of the intermediate tests and the respective final exercises, also allowing the bond to be further consolidated. between the Italian and Lebanese Armed Forces.​
