The changeover ceremony, following the recent government decrees relating to the management of the epidemiological emergency from COVID - 19, was held in reduced form in the presence of the foreign representatives of Albania and Slovenia, effective at the Center of Excellence, and in videoconference with the general Salvatore Camporeale, commander of the Army Training, Specialization and Doctrine Command COMFORT.
Colonel Merlino leaves the leadership after a long and intense period that saw the establishment of the Center as a multinational entity and its subsequent accreditation as a NATO Center of Excellence.
Colonel Massimo Di Pietro takes over after having given up command of the 6th Bersaglieri regiment in Trapani.
