Today, in the presence of Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz, of the Polish Chief of Staff lt. January Leszek Surawski, Deputy Hungarian Defense Minister Siklosi Peter, Deputy Defense Minister of the Czech Republic Landovsky Jakub, the commander of the Joint Force Command (JFC) of Brunssum general of corps Salvatore Farina and of numerous other personalities, has been declared the Initial Capability of the headquarters (HQ) of the North East multinational division, which completes the command and control structures of theenhanced Forward Presence (EFP). It is the last piece in the measures for strengthening the north-eastern borders of the Atlantic Alliance. This is the command of North East multinational division (MND-NE), established in Elblag, Poland.

La multinational division will have the task of coordinating and supervising the training and preparation activities of the four battle group of eFP and will depend on Brunssum's JFC and the Multinational Corps North East.

The implementation of the new command of the Alliance's force structure, located in Poland, stems from the implementation of the decisions of the NATO NATO summit of 2016, aimed at strengthening solidarity between allies, as well as the Alliance's ability to dissuade and defend the Alliance on the eastern flank. The multinational command, in addition to representing an important contribution to the collective defense of NATO as a whole, is an opportunity for crisis management.

In his speech, the Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz wanted to underline how the active participation of 13 countries, with another 6 to be added in the coming weeks, gives a profound meaning of solidarity and "collective participation" in the project. Furthermore, addressing the local population, he wanted to emphasize the importance of this project by underlining its "community of interests", sure of mutual support between citizens and NATO personnel.

In subsequent interventions, the authorities thanked Poland, which in such a short space of time managed to make available personnel and facilities, as well as the C2 capacity (command and control). Furthermore, as a common factor, they wanted to express their satisfaction at the speed with which the eFP was completed less than a year after the agreements that established its birth (Warsaw 8-9 July 2016), taken at order to make the northeastern side of the alliance more secure. In particular, General Farina wanted to emphasize the importance of the event, explaining that with the acquisition of theInitial Capability of the HQ of the Multinational Division in Poland, increases the Alliance's deterrent capacity, in order to guarantee the security and protection of the Member States at 360 degrees and in the name of allied solidarity - 'One for all, all for one'.

Finally, the commander of Brunssum's JFC wished to stress, once again, the defensive and proportionate nature of the measures adopted by NATO and its determination to seek dialogue with every potential aggressor.
