This morning Archbishop Santo Marcianò, military ordinary for Italy, visited for the first time the NATO Defense College, the high training institute of the Atlantic Alliance, inside the military city of Cecchignola.

To welcome his excellency, the commander of the College, the general of the army corps Olivier Rittimann, together with the director of management and senior Italian officer of the NDC, the brigadier general Riccardo Brizi.

After signing the honor roll and meeting the leadership of the Institute, Monsignor Marcianò paid homage to the national military personnel by dedicating a thought to the essential role of the NDC in the local and international context: "This morning I understood that the meaning of this reality is cohesion, cohesion as a synonym of peace. I see in this structure, in the aims of the College, this effort to achieve peace, widening more and more the involvement of other nations, peoples, brothers and sisters. "

Continuing, he then underlined how: "It is striking for this college that its formation does not concern exclusively militarity but equally the sphere of diplomacy and politics, making it a multifaceted reality and this versatility contributes to the effectiveness of what it conveys. The maintenance of peace, this cohesion between peoples, it can be reached through various ways, and working on these paths, political and diplomatic, is absolutely effective ".

His Excellency concluded the visit to the guardhouse with the blessing of the effigy of the Virgo FIdelis, patroness of the Carabinieri.
