In recent days, at the Headquarters of the NATO Command for Transformation (HQ ACT) in Norfolk (USA), formal documents have been signed with which Germany has joined the NATO Modeling and Simulation Center of Excellence of Rome as Sponsoring Nation.

In this way, the Federal Republic of Germany becomes a full member of the fourth nation participating in the Center, in addition to the United States of America, the Czech Republic and Italy as Framework Nation.

In fact, this accession will guarantee Germany, in addition to a direct involvement in the definition of the Center's work program, a participation in terms of staff as a German officer (Subject Matter Expert in the specific sector of the Modeling and Simulation) will go on to hold an organic position in the Center's structure in the first months of next year.

Germany's commitment will also result in financial participation aimed at partially covering the activities set out in the Center's work program.

Il NATO Modeling & Simulation Center of Excellence (NATO M&S COE) is an Italian-led Center of Excellence, established by the VI Department of the Defense General Staff, which was accredited by NATO and obtained international status in 2012.

It is proposed to offer expertise and high and qualified professionalism in modeling and simulation for the benefit of NATO and other nations belonging to the Alliance.
