Army and Navy bomb squads detonated 11 war remnants

The war remnants reclamation activities in the new port area of ​​the city of Molfetta ended on Wednesday 13 April.

The Army bomb squad of the 11th engineer sappers regiment of Foggia, in collaboration with the SDAI (Demining Defense Anti-Insidious Means) nucleus of Taranto, belonging to the Diving Operations Group of the Diving and Inshore Pools "Teseo Tesei" of the Navy, recovered and blasted 11 remnants of war, including 7 30-pound aircraft bombs and 4 special-loading small and medium-caliber bombs.

The activity, which falls under those envisaged in the program agreement for the reclamation of port areas signed between the Ministry of the Environment, the Puglia Region, ARPA Puglia and ICRAM (Central Institute for Scientific and Technological Research Applied to the Sea), coordinated by the Prefecture of Bari, saw the collaboration of all the institutions present in the area.

The operations took place in a secure environment and ended without causing any inconvenience to the population.
