Music: she was the protagonist of this 21 June. On the longest day of the year, summer solstice, more than one hundred cities in Italy hosted the "Music Festival" event, commissioned by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. But we must return to France at that 21 June of the 1982 when, on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, amateur and professional musicians invaded the streets, courtyards, squares, gardens, stations and museums to play throughout the country. Music is no longer just a visible musical practice, but an authentic social phenomenon. Over the years, different countries and cities have joined the initiative.

Today, as thirty-five years ago, music has returned to the streets, just like the theme of this edition: "La strada suona". Artists and not only. The Bands and Fanfare of the Italian Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Carabinieri also performed. 25 the concerts, 14 the adhering cities including Rome, Milan, Bari, Palermo, Naples, Pisa, Arezzo, Messina, Udine, Gorizia, Livorno, Taranto, Trapani and La Spezia.

Right in the street, precisely in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, the Fanfare of 1 Command was performed by the Air Region of the Italian Air Force. A show in one of the most evocative places of the Milanese city, where contemporary architecture marries space and where the musical notes of the pieces performed have accompanied for many the end of a working day. Culture and participation. Harmony and universality, as universal was the repertoire proposed by the Fanfare headed by the master 1 orchestra marshal Lieutenant Antonio Macciomei: from classical music to the homage to the master Ennio Morricone, from jazz to the best soundtracks of cinema, passing through the great classics.
