Emergency center Italy: armed forces continue to evacuate in isolated countries by snow

In Central Italy, the Armed Forces continue to stay close to the population of the regions affected by the earthquake emergency aggravated by the bad weather of the last week and to cooperate with the Civil Protection and other forces on the ground. The Chief of the Armed Forces General Claudio Graziano today expressed his deep appreciation for the work done by the "big family with the stars" to which the financial police also belongs, involved in rescuing with the financiers of the Alpine Rescue. 

Between yesterday and today, the military has continuously carried out the evacuation of various isolated areas: since the beginning of the emergency, more than 200 people have been evacuated both by land and by air in the municipality of Villa Castellana, in the Teramo area. Of these, also 70 civilians rescued from the hamlets of Pietralta (TE) and Bolognola (MC) along the provincial road 49.

To ascertain and verify the avalanche risk, a team of Meteomont technicians was today embarked for the first time on an Air Force HH-101 helicopter while an Army AB205 carried out a reconnaissance between Rieti and Viterbo. The Command and Control Directorate of the Civil Protection of Rieti also used an AM helicopter HH139 and an HH212 already present on site, to carry out reconnaissance flights on the areas affected by the bad weather emergency.

Meanwhile, work on the construction site of the last area to be urbanized has been resumed entrusted to the military of the genius of the Army who with the competition of the riflemen of Marina del Saint Mark have restarted the work begun in August last year and interrupted by the sudden emergency of the past week.
