The Undersecretary of State for Defense, Domenico Rossi, met today at Palazzo Salviati, headquarters of the Centro Alti Studi della Difesa, the representatives of the Military Associations, on the occasion of the annual meeting aimed at welcoming and analyzing the requests and expectations represented by the Dicastery by Combattentische and Weapons Associations.
In his greeting, Undersecretary Rossi underlined the closeness of the government and the Ministry of Defense to the Military Associations that "represent an important element of social cohesion and active school of solidarity, in a society where the crisis of values is even stronger than the economic one. "
The Associations praised the undersecretary Rossi for his constant presence and closeness in all the main events and anniversaries.
The meeting was an important moment of confrontation on the main theme of the evolution and future of the Associations.
"A process of evolution necessary to continue to transmit a memory linked to the last century, of which the direct witnesses are missing day after day "- said the undersecretary - "The Associations united in pursuing the common goal of handing down the values of democracy and peace to the new generations, can be an even richer heritage of history and traditions".
"A mutual effort in view of an ever greater synergy between Associations and Ministry of Defense that will lead to the achievement of results of common interest " - concludes Rossi - "Looking to the future requires a different configuration of the relationship between Defense and Associations with the sharing of common tasks increasingly adherent to constitutional values and those of the Armed Forces".
Other topics included the allocation of funds, the planning of future projects of Defense interest and the possibility of applying subsidized rental fees to the structures that host the offices of the Associations.
