The aircraft carrier Cavour, engaged in the month of November in joint training activities in the Tyrrhenian Sea with the aircraft of the Aero Imbarcati Group (GRUPAER), Italian Army helicopters and Air Force aircraft, will stop from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 15 November 2018 in the port of Genoa where it will be moored at Ponte Doria.
During the stop the ship will be available for visits by the population, schools and young students participating in the Orientations Exhibition, organized by the Regional Agency for Training and Employment - ALFA Liguria, from 13 to November 15. In this regard, an information path will be organized on board with in-depth information on the activities and professional peculiarities of the specialized components of the Armed Force thanks to special exhibition areas that will be made available to visitors.
From 8 to 11 November Nave Cavour it will be the site of some activities of the 48 Congress of the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM), which will also take part of the staff of the Navy's health care in specialist training, based on an inter-agency collaboration agreement between the armed force and SIRM which will lead to the sharing of important experiences in the medical sector. The ship will also be involved in further training and updating of health personnel by the Provincial Order of Physicians of Genoa.
The aircraft carrier Cavour will be available to the population on 9, 10, 11 and 12 November days.
For organizational and port security reasons, visits will be organized into groups in the methods indicated on the website of the municipality of Genoa (www.comune.genova.it), in principle during the following times:
- Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Monday 12 November, from 9.30 to 13 and from 15.00 to 19.00;
- Sunday 11 November from 16.00 to 19.00.
