The most awaited moment was obviously the one in which, thanks to the MB 339 PAN Aeronautica Militare Frecce Tricolori group, the sky between Vasto and San Salvo was filled with the colors of the Italian flag. Thousands of people present, coming from all over Italy and also from abroad. Many wanted to attend the event also to forget the tragic events of last May 31, when the Sienese pilot Marco Ricci, flight leader of an aerobatic group from Sassuolo, was killed on the coast between Alba and Tortoreto. On that occasion, the Frecce Tricolori did not perform as a result of the serious mourning. The day in Vasto was also dedicated to him, where the air show planes had performed, the last time, two years ago.
