Three special days that ten students of the Collegio San Luigi of Bologna and their teacher are living these days.

Monday 23 May, meeting at the 09.00 at the Cialdini Barracks in Bologna, headquarters of the Army Regional Command, for the flag-raising ceremony together with the military and, afterwards, the inauguration of an exhibition of memorabilia and documents on the "military service from 1861 to 2005 ”.

The exhibition, curated by the historian and collector, Renato Tampieri, can be visited by appointment until the 26 maggio pv (for information 051-584130).

Subsequently, the departure with an army bus to Trento, guests of the 2 ° regiment of genius guastatori, from whose barracks, on Tuesday 24 will leave for the Shrine of Pasubio (VI), the charnel house in which the remains of 5.146 rest Fallen Italians of the Great War.

In this journey of Memory, the students are accompanied by ten soldiers of the 66 "Trieste" infantry aircraft regiment, the department - now based in Forlì - which fought in those places a hundred years ago, and which guards the mortal remains at Pasubio of many of its soldiers.

Dense program of events, during which the Bolognese students will meet with their colleagues from ten Italian cities, also visiting Sacrari and places symbol of the First World War.

A journey of Memory, which will end on May 25 with a TATOO of military bands in the very central Piazza Prato della Valle of Padua, during which they will also meet Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti.

The event is part of the initiative called "the Army Combats" - organized by the Army Staff, as a "popularizer of culture and historical knowledge" in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research - and includes seminars and conferences on the theme of the great war throughout Italy.
