The Minister of Defense, sen. Roberta Pinotti, and the national trade unions representing civil defense personnel, have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on civilian staff functions. The undersecretary of defense, the Hon. Domenico Rossi, delegate for civilian personnel, who followed the work of the agreement.
With today's signature - the result of constructive collaboration between the Defense and the social partners - for the first time the sectors of employment and the related activities towards which to direct the civil defense personnel are also defined in order to facilitate the identification of the tasks and the levels of responsibility as well as the contribution of said staff within the functional structures.
“The work carried out is an important step in recognizing the professionalism of the Civil Defense Personnel. I wanted to be present to underline the importance of this signature ”, declared the minister to seal an image of Defense made up of the union of the various components, the civilian and the military.
The definition of specific sectors and activities constitutes the start of a process of regulation of the functions of the civil defense personnel, following a policy line of the dicastery's political summit aimed at concretely developing the principle of enhancing the professionalism of such personnel , in line with the provisions of the "White Paper for international security and defense".
